A banding wheel is an excellent studio aid to decorating and forming clay. A good banding wheel is heavy in weight (so it maintains
it's momentum when spinning), stable, and of the correct diameter for the job at hand. Fine decorators use a banding wheel for painted 'banding' or the application of line decoration. It can also be used for any other decorating where the decorator wishes to move the form without touching it during decoration.
